WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GIVE BACK?

We believe that giving back is more important than taking and are committed to supporting worthwhile causes important to Emperor and our people.

Whether making direct financial donations, supporting our team in their fundraising activities, offering paid time off to support local initiatives or providing professional services to organisations, we are determined to make a real difference to the lives of others.

Our purpose

The Emperor Foundation is a charitable organisation that co-ordinates fundraising activity on behalf of Emperor and distributes funds to our chosen charitable causes. Established in 2018, it is regulated by and registered with The Charity Commission.

We support causes that have specific resonance for our Partners and extended community and tackle issues that are close to our hearts. To do, this has included cancer support and care, children's health, support for people affected by dementia and suicide prevention.

Please note that all the charities we support are nominated by our Partners. We do not respond, or donate, to unsolicited appeals.

Our past fundraising

Since our foundation, we have raised over £200,000 from a variety of activities and events, both large and small, driven and supported by the Emperor team.

Highlights

Our fundraising events have seen us cycle from London to Amsterdam, scale the heights of Ben Nevis, soar through the skies on a wing-walk, run marathons, bake cakes, quiz ourselves to within an inch of our lives, glow in the park, take on step challenges, dress up and shave down, to name but a few of our efforts.

Our Board of Trustees

The Emperor Foundation is overseen by our Board of Trustees, comprising an independent chairman and a range of employees from Emperor.

Simon Tappenden
Simon is the internal operational lead for Emperor, so has a birds-eye view and steer on how to get things done across the business. In a former role, Simon worked in the charity sector for a number of years, so has first hand experience of fundraising, governance and charity operations. He combines his practical skillset and charity background to enable a clear path of success for the foundation.

He brings together his experience in delivery, organisation, and storytelling to support the Foundation’s charitable ambitions. Rob helps to plan and run fundraising initiatives and events, and uses his communication skills to amplify the impact and visibility of the Emperor Foundation’s work.
